Cadet John Alexander CLARKE, Cadet No. 1434.
When I joined the
Cadets on 1 March 1958, as I was from the country, I boarded at Miss Jones’
Boarding House at Bondi.
During the Cadets, I
was stationed at Fingerprints, Bondi, Rose Bay, Regent Street and the CIB Inquiry Office.
After being sworn in
on 29 April 1960, I served at Parkes, Tottenham (being a one man Station), Port
Macquarie as the Lockup Keeper, Wellington,
Kingscliff and Tweed Heads before retiring on 29 April 1995 after 38 years
service on general duties.
I met my wife, Sally,
at Bondi Beach and we were married on 19 June
1964. We had three children, Karin,
Melissa and Tim and we have four grandchildren, Sarah, Ben, Indiana and Maya.
I now spend my life on
all my hobbies which include snorkeling, aquariums, painting, collecting, bike
riding, gardening and, of course, the grandchildren. |
